The Centre for Mechanical Engineering Materials and Processes (Research Unit nº 285 of the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology) aims to develop interdisciplinary research in the areas of Mechanical and Materials Engineering and other related areas. Its main objectives are to promote innovation, facilitating the dissemination of scientific and technological knowledge in close collaboration with the business and social network and supporting the creation of start-ups, to contribute to advanced training, and to collaborate on strategies for regional and international development.
The Portuguese Maintenance Society APMI (Associação Portuguesa de Manutenção Industrial) was established
in 1980.
APMI bring together about 200 Individual Members - Senior and Technical staff directly involved in
Business Management and Administration; and about 100 Collective Members - Companies representing the
most important sectors of the national economic panorama.
APMI’s main objective is the improvement of maintenance for the benefit of the maintenance professionals
and engineering students.
In order to pursue its goals, APMI organize Congresses, Conferences, workshops and training courses.
With headquarters in Coimbra, HARIDA is a private-law Association, non-profit organization which aims to
promote, organize and develop scientific research and technological development (R&D), and transfer of
knowledge with national and international entities of IDT, with the corporate sector, national and
international levels, and to society in General.
HARIDA searches also support entities and provide services in its various areas, making research and
innovation a priority, by supporting the creation of jobs and growth based on knowledge and
technological advances; Manage the funds which are allocated in the framework of community, national or
other funds that are awarded; Implement the innovation process according to a perspective of strategic
intelligence supported the gains, the challenges in the competitive advantages and potential for
excellence that is inherent; Promote the involvement of stakeholders by ensuring that all partners are
fully matched in the development, implementation and monitoring of strategies, tactics and operational
projects; The reception of foreign researchers in General and, in particular, within the framework of
master's and doctoral programs.
